Every kid goes through a phase in life when they start taking care of themselves, and getting braces is usually right in the middle of that. Teenagers are the ones who have to deal with the whole appliance thing, even if its their parents who bring them to our office. Cleaning around it, keeping up with appointments, brushing it, and making a few adjustments – it’s a big responsibility. Over the years, we’ve learned that treatment works better when the teen is brought in on the decisions right from the start, rather than just being told what’s going on. Invisalign uses a series of custom-made, removable clear aligners to gently shift teeth into their ideal position. At Bozek Orthodontics, Invisalign treatment is powered by advanced iTero digital scanning for a precise, comfortable fit. Invisalign is ideal for patients who want a nearly invisible way to straighten their smile without the restrictions of traditional braces.

When a parent comes in to ask about getting braces for teens in Burlington, we like to include the teen in the conversation too. We go over the whole treatment plan, how long it’ll take, and what they can expect on a daily basis. The teen gets to see the different appliance options, share any worries they have, and ask questions. At Bozek Orthodontics, getting in on things early really makes a big difference in how the rest of the treatment goes. Invisalign Teen is designed specifically for the needs and lifestyle of teenagers, offering flexibility without compromising results. At Bozek Orthodontics, Invisalign Teen aligners are removable, making it easy for teens to eat, brush, and enjoy their daily activities. With Invisalign Teen, young patients can achieve beautiful smile transformations while feeling confident throughout treatment.

The teenage years can be crazy with school, sports, social stuff and the rest of it – we try to schedule appointments at times that won’t clash with any of that. Most of the appointments are quick, and the breaks in between are long enough for families to plan around them. Before long, it just becomes a normal part of the week – not something to worry about.

The good news for teens is that there are way more options now for getting braces. traditional metal is still a great choice, as its reliable and gets the job done. For teens who are self-conscious about metal, ceramic braces can be a good option – they’re pretty close to the color of their teeth. Clear aligners are another option – however, they do need to be worn regularly. We really listen to what the teen has to say and work with the family to figure out what works best.

Getting treatment done while you’re a teenager is the best time. Your adult teeth have come in, your jaw is still developing and your bones react well to the adjustments we make. Treatment usually goes smoothly and the results last. Most teens see results in just a few months, and by the end of it, their smile is noticeably different in a way that means a lot to them.

We encourage teens to take ownership of their treatment by explaining how important it is to stick to the plan. That means showing up to appointments, wearing those pesky rubber bands when we say so, keeping the appliance clean, and avoiding things that might damage it. Once they get it, most teens are happy to take on that responsibility – we don’t feel like we need to lecture them or anything. We just give them a clear explanation and trust them to do the right thing.
