After seeing the joy orthodontics brought to his father’s life, Dr. John decided to follow in those footsteps. He obtained his Doctorate of Dental Surgery and Masters in Orthodontics from Cleveland, Ohio’s Case Western Reserve University in 1996. After graduating, he taught postgraduate orthodontics at his Alma Mater and is currently a clinical instructor at The Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Toronto, Graduate Department of Orthodontics. Dr. John has a passion for dental technology, including Invisalign®. He has been an Invisalign® provider since 1999, completing more than 1000 Invisalign® cases.
Dr. John is the Past President of the Ontario Association of Orthodontists, as well as a member and Past President of the Burlington Dental Academy and Toronto Orthodontic Club. Other professional memberships include the Ontario Dental Association, Canadian Association of Orthodontists and American Association of Orthodontists.
As a proud resident of Burlington, Dr. John holds a number of local charities close to his heart, including the Joseph Brant Hospital Foundation where he served on the board of directors for three years. In celebration of the 50th anniversary of Bozek Milligan Orthodontics, Dr. John and his wife Jennifer have started a Family Endowment Fund at the Burlington Foundation so their support and gratitude to the community can live on forever.
Dr. John and Jennifer are proud parents of Leo, Holden and Harrison. When not practicing orthodontics Dr. John shares his love of skiing, golfing and cooking with his family.
Dr. Melissa Milligan, “Dr. Mel” as she’s referred to by her patients, joined Bozek Milligan Orthodontics in 2016. Originally from Toronto, she received her dental degree from the University of British Columbia and her speciality in Orthodontics at the University of Toronto. Currently, Dr. Mel teaches with Dr. John in the same graduate orthodontics clinic at the University of Toronto that they met in.
Dr. Mel’s passion for travel and community service has taken her all over the world as part of dental missions throughout South America and the Canadian west coast. Now living and practicing in Burlington, she has taken an active role in her dental community closer to home including holding a position on the Board of Directors for the Ontario Dental Association. She has lectured nationally teaching other orthodontists about new orthodontic techniques. Her other professional memberships include the Ontario Association of Orthodontics, the Canadian Association of Orthodontics, the Ontario Dental Association, and the American Association of Orthodontics.
Dr. Mel and her husband Tim are proud parents to their two girls, Avery and Maeve. When not practicing orthodontics Dr. Mel loves to explore farmer’s markets, hike, play piano, and hear what’s going on in your life.
